As a solo artist "Baxter" I produce, write and mix all of my own songs, releasing everything in double singles with an intentional lack of consistency amongst the releases

In July 2020, my song "Galore" was included in a 4 hour live stream mix by Russian Techno DJ Nina Kraviz. Her Record label, Trip Recordings later approached me about including my song on their compilation album "Hot Steel", leading to a Spotify editorial playlisting and over 10,000 streams

As a stark contrast, this is the album art for my most minimal release titled "Cool Jazz Combo + Vintage Vocal". As the name suggests it only uses 2 of Logics preset sounds, one track for vocals, one for electric guitar. This release displays more musicianship through expression and delivery, aiming to highlight the importance of the song itself. Exploring how high quality recording is not always the most important thing, but rather that the song can speak for itself, no matter what gear is available.

"Where has My First Impression Gone" is a dead pan, sombre song about when Baxter ended up in a heap at the bottom of a staircase in Oxford, UK. Losing 3 and a half of his front teeth. A time in his life when meeting anybody new, it seemed 60% of anyone's eye contact was made with the hole in his smile.

"Can I Touch Your Lips" talks in the same style about a series of minor inconveniences and wanting to make someone else's day.

Go Out For Coffee With Me is Baxter's Debut Release. Quirky, light-hearted and humorously direct, this double-single construes his style as an artist. Across all of his releases, Baxter is determined not to become another Artist that takes himself too seriously, A defining element of what makes his music unique.

Saturnquake is a song about earthquakes and how maybe other planets don't have to deal with them. So perhaps we should shift to another planet.

The songs have proven to become crowd favorites in his live show, especially in his living room shows. Living room shows are an important part of Baxter's brand. He values the intimate environment and finds it a more vulnerable space to allow the audience to really absorb his music (and lyrics) as opposed to loud drunken bar gigs.

Album art by Mark Whittet.

Sticknpoke/Weatherman was Baxter's second release as a solo artist. Inspired by living with NZ Artist Tom Verberne, Baxter began to dive deeper into the world of production. These songs were a huge learning curve and saw a vast improvement in his production skills. Making these songs sentimental to Baxter, marking a big jump in how versatile his music would become.

Baxter has also recorded at Dr Lee Prebble's Surgery Studio with Eli Superflyy and Same Name Confusion. As well as in Massey's "S1" studio with Dave Carter in Stink.
